Traveling Users: Troubleshooting
I am traveling in Russia, Pakistan, or the Philippines and receiving an Error 50 when trying to connect. Printable View Return to List
Global Access Control (GAC) is designed to reduce fraudulent access to the network. Restricted accounts will need to be pre-authorized to gain Internet access when traveling to Russia, Pakistan, and/or the Philippines. When a user requires access to one of the GAC controlled countries they should contact the in-country Internet HD to request access to the blocked country. If a customer attempts to access a LIG in Russia, Pakistan, or the Philippines, and is affected by GAC, he/she will receive the following error message: !Error 50 Due to Network Restrictions, you are not authorized to access the network from this country. For assistance, please contact this country´s helpdesk for access authorization." The in-country helpdesk list can be found in the Customer Support section of your dialer under the HELP menu. You may also locate a helpdesk list under this website by clicking the option for Contact Us and then Help Desk Numbers.
